Bouncing Ahead This Spring

We are loving the buoyancy in the construction industry this year and as our business grows, we are taking the time as a team to give back where we can.

It makes sense to us to support construction charity Lighthouse Club, who provide practical and financial help to construction workers who face mental health struggles. Throughout March, our Chief Executive Greg and his son William, set out with a target of walking 100,000 steps and smashed this target in a matter of weeks! He then increased this and completed a whopping 250,000 steps by the end of the month, raising £240 for this well deserving cause.

Contracts Manager Richard is working towards a certificate in Mental Health First Aid and will be championing this role for our team of supervisors and operatives.

Another way we support our team is by working with and supporting the Living Wage Foundation and we are proud to have renewed our support for a further year. In trades like ours, workers are notoriously paid under the living wage threshold, this had an impact on workers physical and mental well being. Paying our staff a true living wage leads them to be happier and in turn creates happier customers!

Its always lovely to get the team together at our monthly SMT meeting which took place this month on St Patricks Day!

Richard attended the David Wilson Homes, North West subcontractors meeting on TEAMS this month, we like to know what our customers have planned so that we can be best prepared to help meet their criteria.

In addition to this Greg, Richard & Stephen attended BDO’s Business Resilience Programme, BDO are a leading international business and advisory service and we took the opportunity to explore ways of maximising business opportunities and overcoming hurdles.

We have started on site with our builders clean service for a number of house builders including Castle Green Home on their Meols project, Vistry Partnerships on the Partington scheme and Elan Homes on their new scheme in Ramsbottom.

Richard & Stephen attended a number of pre-start meetings throughout March for customers such as Watson for their Bolton project, Casey for the Prestwich site, Countryside for Bamber Bridge site and Lovell’s Thornton project as well as Castle Green Meols site!

Quality Control Manager Ruth attended several sites to check the standard of work was up to our high standards. We feel this is an integral part of our service that gives our customers reassurance in the quality of our work.

March was our best month financially and we broke the previous record from July last year! As the pace of business increases, so has our team, with new recruit Andrea joining us to assist with back of house duties helping us to meet the increasing demands with higher levels of business.

More of our on site cleaning operatives have achieved their CSCS cards, with Thomas being the latest member to achieve the certification.

As new projects begin, others have completed and Greg and Richard went to say goodbye to the on site team at Stewart Milnes site in Congleton.

We are happy to have stepped in to help with the sparkle cleans of the show homes for Northstone UK, we have the workforce and ability to be able to provide a last minute service when required!

We gained a new accreditation in the CHAS Premier Plus certificate, this certification means we are able to work with even more contractors on site and adds to our already extensive list of health & safety certificates.

As we move into April we are looking forward to warmer weather and lighter days! We hope you are too.

Love,

Facilco team x
